I've decided to make a new chapbook about children and their food. Because I've realized I have so many poems about just that. And here's one.

Children Having Trouble With Meat

they're not sure?
the fork makes an
interesting clang when they bang it
on the rim of the plate

in the center
there's something?

it makes no noise when they hit
it with their fork
not even a grunt

although when they hold their ear
very close
to its burning smell

there is a wet
hiss

I think the Kids/Food chapbook is a good idea.

I like the tone of this poem. The last two stanzas are my favorite.

Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean by stanza; it's sort of just lines.

This is a very good read. And good luck for the comedy thingy. Give 'em hell, then come and tell us how they took it.
